Top Mid Range Restaurants In Dublin

We say ‘mid range restaurants’ but they are actually all pretty damn awesome. For those nights when you want something special, whether it’s a big date, a celebration or a client you want to impress. Here are 10 top notch restaurants where you’ll get a really special meal and it won’t break the bank. Well, it won’t break the bank the way a Michelin starred restaurant would anyway.

Etto

Relaxed and informal but the food is exceptional. The style is a sort of casual yet high end Italian, if you know what I mean. They recently got a Michelin Bib Gourmand, which is basically the win win of restaurant awards – it usually means exceptional food without the exceptional prices.

Pichet

The dining room at Pichet is bright and airy and the food is never less than excellent. Dining here is just a pleasure.

Chez Max

Intimate, cosy and very, very French, Chez Max is perfect when you want to switch on the romance. Although it’s the perfect setting to catch up with friends too. If you’re on a budget it’s one of the cheaper options on the list.

The Winding Stair

Situated above a bookshop on Ormond Quay, The Winding Stair oozes charm and originality. The food is contemporary Irish with heavy emphasis on food provenance. A particularly good choice if you want to show off to a visitor to the city.

Whitefriar Grill

A steakhouse with a distinctly New York vibe. Whitefriar Grill is a good choice for a more substantial meal, still a great spot for a nice date though.

Coppinger Row

A Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of the city offering excellent cocktails and simple but delicious food. But beware if you’re looking to impress your date, they only take bookings for six or more.

Vintage Kitchen

Possibly the best value in Dublin, Vintage Kitchen is serving some of the best food in the city at only €28 for two courses and it’s BYO. Where’s the catch you say? Well with deals like that it’s hard to get, but book well in advance and it’ll be worth it.
